A week before Global Gaming announced it would acquire Pirate Bay, the company’s stock shot up. Authorities want to know why.
Questions about the finances of the company bidding to acquire the BitTorrent tracker, as well as those of its CEO, cast doubt on whether the new Pirate Bay will launch anytime soon.
It’s not a nationwide ban like the one now in place in the Netherlands , but it may be a step in that direction. Starting September 1, Irish ISP Eircom will block its customers from accessing torrent indexing site The Pirate Bay.
